This is the blog of the newly married Jennifer and James Madelaine. The ceremony took place in the lovely historical town of Axbridge at the Saint John the Baptist Church and then onto the absolutely beautifully quaint Maunsel House in Taunton.

I was joined by Pete a friend of mine who is 2nd shooting for me a lot this year he was the perfect accomplishment for the wedding and brought a ‘fresh’ eye to the day.

James and Jennifer were so calm and laid back all day which made them a delight to be around as where there friends and family who we enjoyed getting to know through out the day.

And here are a few from the day, kicking off with some their little Axbridge house…

Meanwhile Pete caught up with James and the boys in Bristol.

I thought it was very cool that James hired a Jaguar for him and Jen to enjoy for the weekend.

And here she is, one of  the calmest and caring brides we have worked with… Jen did nothing but make sure everyone was OK and having a great time all day.

And here is a sweet gift she had made for James to record some memories of holidays they had in the past.

The cheeky boys managed to fit in a pint before they went off to the church!

Just time to feed Albert and we where off… I love it that we walked to the church from their house, that was a first for me.

On to Maunsel a beautifully 13th century house sat in 100 acres of gorgeously maintained grounds and straight into some ‘formal’ shots… including some props from the bar.

I loved the D.I.Y. seating plan which was themed around James’s love of cycling.

The speeches where a great opritunity to capture some priceless moments on peoples faces.

After the toasts we milled around and soaked up the atmosphere of the evening.

1) Because it was my first ‘proper’ shoot done overseas… America in fact.

2) It documents a beautiful family that I have grown to love and cherish over the years and it felt like an immense privilege capturing their personalities through my photographs.

3) I ADORE every photograph on this post… I have recently made a vow to only post photographs I love. Starting here!

4) When I showed these photographs to Nick and Stephanie they loved them just as much as I do.

5) After viewing these images, it made me realise even though it feels like a huge loss that my lovely business partner Selena is moving away and will no longer be part of Taylor Barnes Photography with photographs like these I will still be able to create some great work without her.

They live out in Florida where the sun is always shining and the light is perfect. So my trusty 50mm and I have been busy taking lots of shots of them all. We’ve enjoyed painting together, cooking, dancing, dressing up – all the things little girls should do! And here are a few images from my trip so far… (there will definitely be more to come).

This is the girls opening presents on my sister’s anniversary, we like to make a big deal of anniversaries in our family… anything to remember your wonderful wedding day and receive gifts, eh?!

So this is my trip so far… as you can tell I’m having the best of times here and even managed to shoot a few portrait sessions while I’m here in the U.S. so look out for them in future blogs.

We met up with a very talented and good friend of our Joseph Yarrow for some much needed new profile photographs.

Despite knowing Joe since we were around 14 it was still quite nerve wracking having our photographs done!

We went to the beautiful Goldbrick House in Bristol who were kind enough to let us use their upstairs area to take a few photographs. Thank you Goldbrick!

I got so nervous when the camera was on me :S now I know how you poor brides feel!

Then off round the corner to the lovely park behind Park street. You wouldn’t know it’s there, behind the hustle and bustle of funky Park Street in Bristol, a quiet and beautiful park on Brandon Hill with great views across the city especially if you go up Cabot Tower.

O and something even more exciting than new profile pics… We have taken on two new associate photographers that will be working along side us this year for weddings and some other projects. I can see 2012 being an awesome year full of brilliant couples, mums to be and little kiddos… exciting!

This is the beautiful Jessie Thomson and her lovely little bump she is a lovely wedding planner based in Cheltenham and works on weddings in and around the stunning Cotwolds which, if your planning a wedding or know someone that is, you must check out her inspiration site and blog.

I loved meeting up with this talented wedding planner in her Cotswolds home and talking about some of my favourite subjects… weddings and babies of course!

Her home was decorated just as imagined, white washed, just the right back drop for our little bump shoot. I was so happy about how much natural light we had, it provided the perfect conditions to produce a light, fresh and dreamy collection of photographs.

Having baby bump photographs is becoming increasingly popular in Britain and I’m so pleased as its such a special time in a mother’s life so well worth documenting. My parents have a few Polaroid shots from when I was a bump and I love looking through them, my mum had the perfect pregnancy ‘glow’ that was really captured in every shot. They provide much loved memories for us all… that’s why I am so keen to capture these memories for other families.

So here they are Jessie, Bump and Winnie too..

This blog is all about a beautiful family that I had the pleasure of photographing a few weeks ago. Heidi was keen to get some much needed photographs of Ollie as she noticed they did not have many, so I happily obliged to hang around with the family for the morning and take as many shots of this little guy that I could. At eight months Ollie was such a sweet age and delightful to spend some time with.

I thought this would be perfect to blog today as looking through family portraits always make me feel warm, cosy and nostalgic perfect for this time of year!

Here are Jamie, Heidi and their two little babies Ava and Ollie.

Love these next two photographs… Ollie will not be pleased to see these when he is a teenager he looked so cute all dressed up as the ‘very hungry caterpillar’! He was a little champ and let me and Heidi do as many out fit changes as we liked.

We thought it went a little quiet and then we spotted Ava eating all of the icing from her delicious cup cakes…

This is my favourite one of the beautiful Heidi who is oh so in love with her beautiful babies…

I enjoyed myself so much on this shoot I absolutely adore spending time with families and trying to capture special little moments they share together.

Me and Ava really ‘bonded’ over our love of cakes too so I look forward to catching up with her soon on a little play date we have planned… I always make the best of friends on our photo shoots.

I always love doing Rock the Dress shoots, each couple is sooo different, and you can really reflect that so much more in meeting up after the wedding day with the couple. We go to a location of the couples choice, and get some beautiful photographs of them together, being relaxed with no time restraint. and of course you get to really rock that beautiful dress with some stunning photographs!

Dan and Lucy are a beautiful couple from Cheltenham. They have been married for a little while, and although we didn’t take their wedding photographs, they wanted me to do one of our rock the dress shoots with them. So, we’ve done a farm, a beach and a bicycle, chickens and rabbits. I asked Dan and Lucy where they would like to go, and they really wanted to get some more urban photographs, and possibly go to a derelict building! So, the gauntlet laid down I set out to find one, and after some searching around, Ashlees family have bought an old building in Stokes Croft, which used to be the Coroners Court! They were so fantastically kind to let me photograph there, so a big thank you especially to Marti and to Hannah for all the help and time they gave me.

Dan and Lucy were great, really up for anything that I asked them to do which I love! I really hope you love these photographs as much as I do. Please let us know what you think by leaving a comment at the bottom.

Raaaah I love these photographs! Lucy was so good to go onto the windowsill, I just love how the vintage lace in her dress goes so well with the distressed wall in the background.

Hannah spotted these great legs outside the building so we decided to incorporate them into a few photographs!

The graffiti in Stokes Croft is amazing!! If you ever visit Bristol or live in Bristol and haven’t taken the time to have a look, go check it out! These are all outside the club Lakota, next door to the old coroners court. Here is a little taster…

As we were taking photographs, this guy walks past in a Scooby Doo costume! He kindly let us take a photograph with a bride and groom down an alley in Stokes Croft… Random!!!

I’m sure you’ll agree that Dan and Lucy are super cool and beautiful. These next few portraits I love, this was just outside by a black wall, it’s amazing how you can get stunning portraits with good light and a good backdrop. Lucy looks beautiful. I wish I had her profile!

Hello Everyone… Hope you are all fine and dandy on this winter’s day

I feel I have been neglecting the blog these last couple of days, we do apologise and appreciate all the regular visitors we have. Over the next few weeks we have some AMAZING blogs coming, a few personal ones, baby and bump portraits and some awesome weddings too. So keep your eye out for whats to come…

But for now please take a few minutes to look through these photographs of the ever so gorgeous little Bobbi who I met and photographed around a month ago in London along with her equally gorgeous Mummy Jo.

Bobbi was a little camera shy but I still think we managed to capture her in all of her baby loveliness. I particularly like the close up of all her tiny little baby features.

Newborn shots I believe are so important as any parent will know a baby grows so rapidly that its hard to imagine how small they once were but with these images it will help you to keep the memories alive for that bit longer.
