OK so this blog has been a long time coming but I wanted to to wait until I had enough time to really show these photographs to the best of my ability… So here goes!
As posted earlier on in the week we did our first ‘Rock the Dress’ shoot… What is this? Well, basically its a photo session that allows a couple to get all dressed up in their wedding gear and take lots of photographs. We know as wedding photographers that on your wedding day time is tight and you may not be able to spend a long time taking posed photographs as its important to spend time with your family and friends on such an important day. So we decided lets not try and squash everything into one day… why not do a photo shoot at a different time in a location that reflects your personalities with no time restrictions.
As a little way of exploring this idea on a recent trip up to Scotland to photograph my beautiful friend Steph’s wedding (blog out next Monday) we would do a ‘rock the dress’ session with Lyndsey and Ross.
Lyndsey happens to be one of my ever so dear friends so doing her photo shoot was a pleasure! And over the last three years since she married Ross my love for them both has continued to grow![]()
When they got married I was so busy running around like a headless chicken with nerves that I didn’t take any photographs (a crime, I know)!
So this shoot was long over due…

Look at Lyndsey’s amazing eyes!

What I love about ‘rock the dress’ sessions is that you can style your wedding dress in so many ways… On your wedding you may want to look ‘classic’ or ‘timeless’ but this session is all about being in the moment now… bright colours, outlandish accessories, really embellishing your dress!

And here is Ross with Gold Louis Vuitton aviators…

LOVE!

Chickens
We had to include their three pet chickens…

This little sequence is so cute… Lyns and Ross where really good at taking direction. We try not pose our couples too much but we like like to create situations in which they feel relaxed enough smile naturally and express their personalities. This next set I think really expresses them both well…

I hope you enjoyed this post as much as Selena and I did taking the photographs. As I said before it is quite a new idea for us both so leave a comment and tell us what you think below… We would love to know what you think.
We often get emails or text messages saying how much people love our blogs and thank everyone for their support but we want everyone else to know what you think too so leave your comments below… share the love!
Until next time people.
